Pay it Forward

Is it possible for one idea to change the world? Here at Spinning Wheel Alpacas, we believe so. This is why we volunteer with our animals, this is why we are leaders in 4-H, that is why we have this special section. This page is dedicated to the people in our world that make a difference. These are people we have met through our walk of life and inspire us. Please visit  Pay It Forward

Just imagine. You do a favour that really helps someone and tell him or her not to pay it back, but to pay if forward to three other people who in turn each pay it forward to three more and on and on into a global outpouring of kindness and decency. Impossible? How much impact can one heartfelt idea have?" This movie Pay if Forward is a thought provoking show we watched when it first came out, a great movie to see if you haven't had the opportunity. This movie motivated us to try to Pay it Forward as much as we can. Through helping!

Meet these two remarkable siblings: Jordyn and Brooke visited our farm to learn about alpacas and were very interested in the therapy program I have on the farm. Little did I know how influential this visit would be! These two kids are fantastic and are using their energy to Pay if Forward. They started their charitable work at such a young age, Jordyn started his work at the age 11 and Brooke who was inspired by her big brother, began her work at the age of 6. These two kids are just absolutely amazing, and I can not express how grateful I am to have met them. For months afterwards I would boast to anyone who would listen about these two! I do have to mention their parents as well, Gina and Dale, who have raised two remarkable children! They certainly have nurtured two wonderful kids and appears to be awesome roll models. Take the time to read their stories.

Another inspirational person I have met was on a discussion panel while on the TV show Health on the Line with Avery Haines. The topic of course was Human and Animal Bonds and Pet Therapy. Though Ozzy (my alpaca) and the dog Echo were stars during this panel discussion, I was inspired by a lady named Ann Cain. Ann is the executive director and founding member of Sun Rise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre. She is a special lady who saw the benefits that horses could provide people. After experiencing the devastation of loosing her husband, Ann saw first hand the therapeutic value her horse brought her children while they were trying to grieve the loss of their father. Through Ann's devastation she has created a tremendous facility using horses and some great staff to help accomplish this unique facility. Click on Sun Rise Therapy and Learning Centre to learn more about this remarkable facility. Watch her site for some new inspiring therapy animals that will be arriving at their facility. Ann knows that "once you go alpaca, you don't go backa".
